One of Dean Martin's most recognisable signature songs.
Everybody Loves Somebody was originally written in 1947 by Sam Coslow and Irving Taylor, along with pianist Ken Lane. Dean Martin released his version in June 1964 and topped the #1 spot of the Pop AND Billboard 100 charts on the 15th August. This is one of my absolute favourite 'Ballad' style songs to perform. It has a real laid back feel to it and has ample opportunity to for long, soft mellow notes, accentuated with flowing vibrato that made Dean's voice so unique. |

Everybody Loves Somebody Song Lyrics
Everybody loves somebody sometime,
Everybody falls in love somehow. Something in your kiss just told me, My sometime is now Everybody finds somebody, someplace, There's no telling where love may appear. Something in my heart just told me, My someplace, is here. If I had it in my power, I'd arrange for every girl to have your charm. Then, every minute every hour, Every boy would find what I held in my arms. Everybody loves somebody sometime, And although my dream was overdue. Your klove made it well worth waiting, For someone like you. (Instrumental interlude) Everybody loves somebody sometime, And although my dream was overdue. Your love made it well worth waiting, For someone like you. |
